Jacek Szyke

Jacek Szyke is a member of the Supervisory Board at TAURON Polska Energia S.A. He was appointed to the Supervisory Board on 14 September 2010.
 
He graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Łódź and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Technical University of Poznań. He has also earned a PhD from the same Faculty.
 
He has devoted his professional career entirely to the power industry where he had climbed through all levels in the career ladder from an intern, through foreman, head of Automation Section (at ZE Kalisz and Łódź), Duty Operations Engineer (at EC Łódź), to Chief Engineer and Executive Officer (at ZE Płock and Elektrociepłownia Siekierki). He was also employed as Contract Manager in Libya and President of the Management Board at a consulting company.
 
Jacek Szyke is an honorary President of the Chamber of Power Engineering and Energy Consumers, a consultant in electrical engineering matters, author of many improvement recommendations, designs, publications and books, including “Memories concerning tradition and work habits in power engineering”, “Sentimental reflections on power engineering”, “Polish Electrical Power Engineering”.
 
Jacek Szyke declared that in reference to the requirements defined in §23 section 3 of the Articles of Association of TAURON Polska Energia S.A., he meets the independence criteria for supervisory board members under Commission Recommendation of 15 February 2005 on the role of non-executive or supervisory directors of listed companies and on the committees of the (supervisory) board (2005/162/WE), including Best Practices for WSE Listed Companies.
